Andréas Martin, born in Saintes (FR) in 1985, is a screenwriter, director, musician, actor, producer, author and composer from Nantes (FR).
Fascinated by the stars and the Universe since I was very young , I first heard of Anaximander of Miletus, I think, while reading one of the books in my library where he was simply mentioned. But it was when I discovered Carlo Rovelli's work on him that I decided to start creating a play (initially) in which he would be the "hero". "Anaximander" also sounds good, it's beautiful, it makes you dream: ancient Greece, olive trees, fresh fish... In short, at the beginning I really didn't know where to go, a bit like Anaximander's Land which has nowhere to fall, no direction to favor. And then we know almost nothing about him, his life, his character, what he looked like... So we had to invent everything... And imagine who he was, how his bold, revolutionary ideas came to him, how he was the first to understand what seems so obvious to us today: the Earth "floats" in space. What an exciting challenge to try to forget what we already know in order to try to understand how Anaximander of Miletus, the father of scientific thought (at least in Western culture!), was able to arrive at his hypotheses, some of which contradicted those of his master Thales, but which inspired his disciples, the philosophers after him, and all of humanity.
Self-taught in theater and music, Andréas Martin became known thanks to the comedy group Andréas & Nicolas, as well as through his appearances and collaborations with the parody metal band Ultra Vomit, with which he achieved a gold record in 2022*. Alongside his artistic career, he runs the “Club Top Secret Jupiter 44”, a small amateur astronomy club.
